The girls didn't have school on Good Friday, so we first started our Easter fun with the egg hunt at the mall. The girls still enjoy that simple hunt, and this year was even more fun since we met friends there.
Maisie had a friend come over after the hunt for a play date.
After lunch we went to a newer park, and we ran into the same friends. I love the above picture as these sweet friends literally hung out with each other.
Friday night we all went to the Good Friday service which is one of my favorites each year. Several churches get together for this night of worshiping our Savior; it always feels a bit like Heaven to me.
Saturday was a fun day, too. We colored eggs at home; I love this tradition!
Maisie had this idea of creating a cross on her egg. Egg-cellent idea Maisie!
Later in the afternoon we went to a church for more fun. The boys joined us for a few inflatable activities.
Throughout the week we had been going through our Resurrection Eggs each night at dinner. I love this picture of Brandon leading the girls through the Easter story once again.
The girls loved finding their baskets the next morning. They each got a new water squirt gun, complete with strict instructions on not to shoot their mother with water. :) Sadie also got a DVD with four American Girl movies.
Maisie got a new Nalgene.
And Analise got an i-tunes gift card.
All ready for church
All the Luke grand kids - a good lookin' crew.
We joined up at Grandma's for a delicious lunch and more egg hunts.
Brandon was the master griller of the turkey tenderloins.
Easter is such a celebration of what Christ did for us. His death and his resurrection! We may include eggs and a bit of the Easter Bunny, but that is never the focus of the holiday. For us it's all about Jesus!
