Fireworks

We let off some fireworks at home and also went to join the other family for fireworks at their house. Their boys definitely get into more than our girls!
Snap pops are still a favorite for the girls.

There goes a parachute. It was actually calm enough to let them off!
 And catch them!
Smoke balls are another favorite because they are quiet.

We talked them into doing sparklers this year. :)

Someone needed to be in bed...

The infamous question, "Is it going to be loud?"

I do believe it was my husband who let off something that landed on the neighbor's roof.
Thanks family for letting us join you for another year of fireworks!

Suessical the Musical

This year's free show at the amphitheater was "Suessical the Musical." We were excited to see this on a gorgeous night with friends and family. (Brandon went fishing instead. :))
And we enjoyed it. We really did. It was just a bit long and too "musically." And that's coming from someone who enjoys musicals. But I am glad we went.
Here  is some of our crew.
Thanks to Grandmom, the girls love Horton!

Two of these Whos are our neighbors.
Ironically, these little characters were probably our favorites.

Let's Go...

...fly a kite! One of the items we had on our summer "bucket list" was flying kites. One beautiful Saturday, Brandon mentioned going to fly kites. It was perfect! We ran to Target, the girls picked out new kites, and then we went to a soccer field where the weather was ideal. Brandon helped the girls, and I took pictures. Everyone was so happy and had a great time.
Maisie flying her puppy.

 Analise flying her penguin

And Sadie flying her lady bug. Doesn't she look so cute?

And Caramel with her "kite" aka flying squirrel
As we headed back to the van, these two just had to do somersaults down the hill.

Oh, how the simple things in life make me so happy. I am ready to go fly a kite again.

Trails and Rails

There is a museum in town called Trails and Rails. And though I have lived here over 12 year, I had never been there before. One Saturday this summer, they offered a free day. I decided it was time to go and take the girls. Brandon was a good man and came, too.
We enjoyed it, and Analise learned more about pioneers. Yes- that was the goal.

Old fashioned games that the girls enjoyed.

I am glad we took the opportunity to go have some family fun and learn a thing or two while there.

Volleyball Star

Our YMCA had  Jordan Larson come for a day, so I took Analise up to meet her. (I still felt like I owed her one since she never got to meet Rex Burkhead.) Jordan had played volleyball for Nebraska, and she played on the Olympic team this year. Analise was thrilled to meet her!
