Fun with Grandparents Part 2

When Grandmom asked Analise what she wanted to do while she was there, Analise mentioned coloring eggs. So they did...

 Easter in July?

 Analise found some downtime to read some books that Grandmom checked out for her.

 They took the girls on a field trip for Analise. They went to the Johnny Appleseed memorial. Analise learned about him in school.

Whew...those grandparents are amazing!  They did all these fun activities in four days!  I'm not sure who had more fun though, the girls or grandparents. I knew when I asked my mom if she and dad would be willing to watch the girls for a few days, she wouldn't hesitate in saying yes. As she so often says, it's a "win-win." They get the girls, and Brandon and I get time together. I wish I could give a more adequate thank you, but this is my shout out for how much we appreciated it all!  We wish we lived closer so we didn't have to go six months without seeing you. (And Brandon and I could have more dates. :)) 

Maisie summed it up the best when she told Grandmom, "I want to stay here forever." Who wouldn't?

Fun With Grandparents Part 1

The girls had SO much fun with Grandmom and Pops, and U. Danny and A. Peg while we were gone. I have lots of pictures to highlights the memories...

Girly Girls

As I unpacked from the trip, the girls entertained themselves. When I saw them dressed like this, I just had to take a picture.

Zoo Day

 We had Weds. at home with my parents before leaving the next day. My kind parents knew that I would want to go to the zoo, too, so they waited until I was back before taking the girls. My mom bought each of the girls new zoo outfits. Analise wore a tiger shirt, Maisie had a monkey shirt, and Sadie was a giraffe. Thanks again mom!

 We made our annual 11:00 sea lion show. At the end the sea lions were swimming right in front of the girls.

The male lion sure is big when you get right next to it!

Thanks to some spending money we were given (from Brandon's boss and a generous aunt) the girls got to do some some extra things. One of those was my favorite - feeding the giraffes!

Maisie has always loved feeding the goats.

Maisie must taste yummy. She handled this a whole lot better than Analise would have at this age.

After the zoo we went home for a short rest, and then we went to Kohl's, dinner at Pizza Hut, and then Dick's. It sure is a whole lot easier shopping with the extra help!

Thursday morning we were on the road about 8:30. We are so grateful that the girls are good travelers. We arrived home around 9:30. Amazing!

Final Day

Tuesday was our final day, and I wanted to be on the road by noon; I was missing my girlies. :) (BTW...I only talked to them once the entire time I was gone! My dad and I texted, so I knew what they were up to.)

We checked out of our hotel and drove up the street to Castle Rock. We climbed way too many steps and then enjoyed the beautiful view.  This is Lake Huron behind me.

From there we went to the local airport, and Brandon took a ride in a biplane. He was so excited and LOVED it!  I chose not to go with him; riding like that didn't excite me. He took lots of great pictures from the air, so I selected a few....

We drove the five and half hours home and found these cute girls waiting for us in the drive way. It felt so good to hug them!

Sadie missed me the most. In fact, after being home a few minutes, she said to me, "Mommy, why you gone so long? I missed you." I was impressed she could verbalize how she felt.
